User Policy

What we expect from users of QuranTEL.

QuranTEL is a resource for honest, respectful engagement with Qur'anic knowledge. This policy sets out the conduct expected of everyone who uses it.

Conduct standards

Honest, respectful, and within the resource's proper scope.

These standards apply to all use of QuranTEL — during the public preview and after operational launch.

Respectful engagement

All engagement with QuranTEL must be respectful — toward the subject matter, toward other users, and toward the source material. Hostile, abusive, or deliberately disruptive use is not permitted.

No sectarian abuse

QuranTEL is built for users of all backgrounds. Sectarian abuse, deliberate misrepresentation of religious positions, or use of the resource to advance sectarian arguments is prohibited.

No misrepresentation

Do not present QuranTEL content as a religious ruling, fatwa, or authoritative scholarly opinion. QuranTEL explicitly labels all content as non-authoritative. Sharing it as if it were authoritative misrepresents the system.

No impersonation

Impersonating scholars, institutions, or other users is prohibited. Do not represent QuranTEL as being affiliated with any Islamic institution or scholarly body that it is not affiliated with.

No spam or automated misuse

Automated queries, mass submissions, and any form of programmatic misuse are not permitted. The system is designed for genuine personal study, not automated data extraction.

Editorial review

Any future submission of content for inclusion in the QuranTEL archive requires editorial review before publication. This review is mandatory — submissions do not go live automatically.

QuranTEL is not a religious authority.

QuranTEL presents Qur'anic knowledge for personal study only. It is not a fatwa service, not a religious authority, and not a substitute for qualified Islamic scholarship.

For religious guidance or rulings, always consult a qualified Islamic scholar or imam.
