Translation is not revelation. QuranTEL holds this as a design principle. Every translation inside QuranTEL is kept in a separate layer from the Arabic canonical text — always clearly labelled, always authority-ranked.
Core principle
Translation is never presented as the Qur'an itself.
No matter how authorised or widely accepted a translation may be, it remains a human rendering of the divine text — not the text itself. QuranTEL is built to reflect this clearly at every point of user contact.
When a user reads a translation inside QuranTEL, they will always know they are reading a translation. The original Arabic text and the translation are never silently merged.

How translation access is governed
Every translation must pass source approval before appearing.
Translation registration
Each translation is registered with full source provenance, translator identity, rights status, and language documentation before any intake.
Rights and licensing review
Copyright and licensing terms are reviewed and documented before the translation enters the approved resource pool.
Layer assignment
Each translation is assigned to the translation layer — never elevated to canonical text level, never merged with tafsir or commentary.
Release gate
Translation access opens only after source approval, layer assignment, and independent review are all complete. No translation displays until every step passes.
Always made clear
What QuranTEL will always show alongside any translation.
Translator identity
The translator's name and the translation's source record are shown alongside the translated text — full provenance, always visible.
Authority rank
Each translation carries its authority tier classification. Authorised scholarly translations rank differently from interpretive or contemporary renderings.
Separation from Arabic
The original Arabic text and the translation are never presented as a single merged item. They are always shown as distinct, separately-labelled layers.
